Q: Does WORKNET charge any start up fees?
A: No. Regional Directors cover their office expenses and operating costs, while WORKNET funds the temporary payroll, pays the related taxes, and provides the temporary payroll-related worker's compensation and general liability insurance. We do, however, require you to cover your own travel costs to our corporate offices for training.
Q: How much capital do I need to get started?
A: The capital you will need will depend upon your location and present circumstances. If you already have an established business, then your incremental costs will be your travel expenses to New Orleans for our training workshop, the purchase of any equipment you may need for your office, and possibly some additional operating expenses, such as increased advertising and staff costs. If you are just starting a new business, then we estimate that you will need between $50,000 and $70,000 in start up capital. This amount includes an estimated $8,000 to $10,000 initial investment in furniture, computer equipment, software, deposits, miscellaneous expenses, and your initial travel expenses to our office for training. You will need the remainder of your start up capital for working capital during your first year. We estimate your monthly operating expenses to be $3,000 to $4,000. These estimates do not include any of your living expenses and assume you will be starting from scratch.
Q: Do I have to use the WORKNET name?
A: No. But most of our Regional Directors with existing businesses market their temp services under both their company name and WORKNET (such as Temp Service/WORKNET). By using our name with your in marketing your temporary employment services, you will benefit by associating you firm with a national company.
Q: Can I sell the business later?
A: Yes. The business is yours, and it may be sold subject to WORKNET approval of the buyer and conditions.
